The State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU) has been awarded for their innovation- the Electronic Investors Protection Portal (EIPP).

The unit was recognised with a special Award for its innovation that tackles a special problem in Africa during the Innovative Management Awards held during the 43rd African Association for Public Administration and Management (AAPAM) round table conference at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Kampala on Thursday 28th November 2024. 

SHIPU, ACADEMICIANS AND PRIVATE SECTOR JOIN FORCES TO TACKLE GRADUATE UNEMPLOYMENT IN UGANDA

Graduate unemployment in Uganda remains a pressing issue, with figures reported by various experts as high as 80 per cent. 

However, the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) states that the graduate unemployment rate currently stands at 15.2 per cent.

Speaking at a high-level meeting held at Makerere University on November 21, 2024, UBOS Deputy Executive Director, Dr. Vincent Fred Ssenono, attributed the challenge to the increasing number of graduates entering the labour market.

COL. NAKALEMA CALLS ON YOUNG LAWYERS TO SERVE WITH INTEGRITY TO MAKE UGANDA A BETTER COUNTRY

The Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), Col. Edith Nakalema has implored young lawyers to serve with integrity in order to make Uganda a better country. 

“I assure you that the one thing that can make Uganda a better County to live in is you, the young people who should come together, form groups that are determined to make positive contributions to our national development,” she said. 

Col. Nakalema made the remarks today while meeting young lawyers under their organisation, Young Lawyers Network (YLN) at SHIPU offices in Kampala. 

COL. NAKALEMA MEETS ASSOCIATION OF CERTIFIED FRAUD EXAMINERS OFFICIALS

The Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), Col. Edith Nakalema has today met and held discussions with officials from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE)- Uganda Chapter. 

During a meeting held at SHIPU offices in Kampala, Col. Nakalema thanked the association members for their efforts in helping to protect the financial resources of Uganda.
