COL. NAKALEMA CALLS ON YOUNG LAWYERS TO SERVE WITH INTEGRITY TO MAKE UGANDA A BETTER COUNTRY

The Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), Col. Edith Nakalema has implored young lawyers to serve with integrity in order to make Uganda a better country. 

“I assure you that the one thing that can make Uganda a better County to live in is you, the young people who should come together, form groups that are determined to make positive contributions to our national development,” she said. 

Col. Nakalema made the remarks today while meeting young lawyers under their organisation, Young Lawyers Network (YLN) at SHIPU offices in Kampala. 

COL. NAKALEMA MEETS ASSOCIATION OF CERTIFIED FRAUD EXAMINERS OFFICIALS

The Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), Col. Edith Nakalema has today met and held discussions with officials from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE)- Uganda Chapter. 

During a meeting held at SHIPU offices in Kampala, Col. Nakalema thanked the association members for their efforts in helping to protect the financial resources of Uganda.

The Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), Col. Edith Nakalema has called upon stakeholders in Uganda’s mining sector to protect and promote the sector in order to present a significant opportunity for driving the country's economic growth, industrialization, job creation and increased foreign exchange earnings. 

 She said this will boost Uganda’s national development.

On October 17, 2024, Col. Edith Nakalema, Head of SHIPU, reaffirmed the Unit’s dedication to fighting misinformation while attending the launch of the DisMisFakeNews campaign at Next Media. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appealed to the youth to engage in wealth creation to fight unemployment. 

“When you engage in wealth creation you create jobs. The source of jobs is wealth creation,” he emphasised.

The President made the remarks on Saturday 5th October,2024 while meeting a group of youth leaders at State House Entebbe.

According to Col. Nakalema, the rampant unemployment rate in Uganda exacerbated by corruption levels and the failure for the youth to access policy makers, needs concerted efforts of all stakeholders to find both short-term and long-term solutions to tame the likely outcomes.
