SHIPU’S COL. NAKALEMA MEETS AMBASSADOR OF NETHERLANDS TO UGANDA, DISCUSS INVESTMENT MATTERS

The Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), Col. Edith Nakalema has today met and held fruitful discussions with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Uganda, Her Excellency Frederieke Quispel. 

 

During the meeting held at the unit's office in Kampala, Col. Nakalema thanked Ambassador Quispel for reaching out and engaging her office on matters related to investment.

The State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU) hosted a high-level courtesy call from representatives of Patel Infrastructure Limited, a renowned Indian infrastructure development company, on a mission to explore investment opportunities in Uganda’s green energy sector. The delegation was led by Mr. Krunal Arvindbhai Patel, Director Strategic Business Development, and Mr. Nitin R. Patel, Director Finance, accompanied by Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Director General of the Indian Business Forum Uganda.

Col. Nakalema Assures Tourists on Security

Despite other countries where tourism tends to come to a standstill due to election orchestrated violence, Col. Nakalema says the case will be different for Uganda, therefore encouraging more tourists to continue planning to visit the country.

“In Uganda, we prioritise the protection of investors who include the tourists because they play a big role in supporting our economy.  I can assure you all that the country is peaceful, and we are working to maintain the status even during the forthcoming elections,” she said.

COL. NAKALEMA CALLS FOR AUTOMATION SYSTEM IN THE CONSTRUCTION SECTOR TO ELIMINATE BUREAUCRACY AND WRONG ELEMENTS

The Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), Col. Edith Nakalema has tasked the National Building Review Board (NBRB) to make good use of their Building Industry Management System (BIMS) to overcome unnecessary bureaucracy and eliminate wrong elements from the construction sector.

“Through automation, we shall be able to speed up the approval process and improve revenue. This will ensure effective service delivery. The BIMS will help us move together by swiftly driving building control activities,” she said.

The Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), Col. Edith Nakalema has today met and held discussions with the leadership of Muteesa I Royal University Students Guild. 

During a meeting that was held at the Offices of SHIPU in Kampala, Col. Nakalema assured the student leaders that they are vital investors in the academic sphere, and they play a crucial role in ensuring that the country achieves the much-desired socio-economic transformation. 

KH MOBILITY OFFICIALS EXPLORE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN UGANDA’S AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY

Earlier today, a high-level delegation from KH Mobility Co Ltd, led by Chairman Mr. Lee Kyo-Hyong and Vice Chairman Mr. Kyunghoo Kim, who also serves as Chairman of the Korean Association Uganda, paid a courtesy visit to the State House Investment and Privatisation Unit (SHIPU). The visit was part of their broader consultations with various agencies in Uganda’s investment ecosystem.

SHIPU SUCCESSFULLY MEDIATES REAL ESTATE DISPUTE, FOSTERING INVESTMENT CONFIDENCE

Today at SHIPU, we successfully mediated a dispute between Mr. Gibbs Kibwola and Mr. Farouk Kisambira, an indigenous investor in real estate development.

SHIPU’s intervention arose from a year-long disagreement over the sale of a condominium property valued at UGX 250 million in Kira Municipality, Wakiso District. After a protracted discussion, we assisted the two parties in exploring options, ultimately enabling them to reach a mutually agreeable resolution.

AUSTRALIAN INVESTOR SEEKS SHIPU'S INTERVENTION TO FAST-TRACK BUSINESS OPERATIONS IN UGANDA

This morning, SHIPU officers met with Dr. Gerald Joseph Nyasulu, an Australian businessman of Malawian origin, along with his team, including Mr. Alex Edgar Echum and Counsel Jonathan Kavuma.

Dr. Nyasulu, who is also a minister of the word at Streams International in Australia, sought SHIPU’s intervention to address delays hindering the commencement of full business operations in Uganda.

The Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), Col. Edith Nakalema yesterday met and held fruitful discussions with the Makerere University Students’ Guild leadership.

During the meeting held at SHIPU offices in Kampala, Col. Nakalema acknowledged the role of the students’ Guild, saying that at the unit they are delighted to see young leaders seeking to play a crucial role in advocating the interests of the youth in higher education institutions.
