SHIPU AND STANBIC BANK BUSINESS INCUBATOR CEO IN KEY INVESTMENT DIALOGUE
SHIPU continues to play a pivotal role in ensuring a secure and attractive investment environment for both local and international stakeholders. Today, SHIPU had the honor of hosting Ms. Catherine Poran, CEO of the Stanbic Bank Business Incubator, in a productive discussion aimed at further enhancing Uganda’s investment climate.
Having supported over 8,000 SMEs, the incubator has been at the forefront of nurturing entrepreneurship and innovation, with a particular focus on digital technology and youth employment. These efforts align with SHIPU’s vision of fostering investment opportunities that create jobs and drive sustainable economic growth.
Col. Nakalema, the head of Unit showcased SHIPU’s ongoing initiatives to support investors, emphasizing the Uganda Electronic Investors Protection Portal (EIPP), an innovative tool developed by SHIPU to combat delays and bribery in interactions with government officials. The EIPP offers a transparent and efficient platform for investors to lodge complaints and monitor the status of their projects, ensuring timely resolutions and accountability.
Ms. Poran was notably impressed by the EIPP’s potential to remove barriers to investment and improve investor experiences in Uganda. The meeting also provided an opportunity to explore synergies between SHIPU and the Stanbic Bank Business Incubator (SBI).
