COORDINATION BY SHIPU ELIMINATES DELAYS FOR FLORAS BEST GREEN HOUSES PROJECT

In a proactive effort to resolve issues affecting the Floras Best Green Houses project, Col. Edith Nakalema, Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit, convened a crucial meeting. The objective was to eliminate delays faced by the German investors behind the project, attributed to a lack of coordination among key stakeholders.

The meeting was attended by key participants, including Engineer Okanya Boniface Commissioner from the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries; Mr. Asiimwe John Monday, Country Director of Floras Best Green Houses; Mr. Gelvan Kisolo Lule, Principal of Bukalasa Agricultural College, along with his team, Dr. Byakatonda Patrick, Director of the Directorate of Industrial Training; Dr. Maria Nakachwa Ssemakula, Director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation at the National Council for Higher Education; and Senior Counsel Hon. Fredrick Ruhindi, a distinguished legal advisor.

Several pressing issues were discussed and resolved during the meeting. The need for accrediting a curriculum to be developed by Bukalasa Agricultural College was highlighted, with stakeholders agreeing to expedite the accreditation process to establish the necessary educational framework promptly. The project also faced significant water scarcity issues, and Engineer Okanya Boniface assured that a swift solution would be implemented to guarantee continuous water supply, thereby supporting the project's sustainability.

The collaborative meeting yielded several key agreements, including the acceleration of the accreditation process for the curriculum and immediate measures to resolve water access issues, ensuring uninterrupted progress for the project. Col. Edith Nakalema’s leadership and effective coordination were pivotal in bringing together diverse stakeholders, facilitating the resolution of issues that were hindering the Floras Best Green Houses project. This meeting underscores the commitment of the State House Investors Protection Unit to creating a conducive environment for foreign investments and highlights the importance of collaboration and efficient problem-solving.
