COL. EDITH NAKALEMA INSPIRES THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS AT KITEBI SECONDARY SCHOOL
Col. Edith Nakalema Asizua, the Head of the State House Investors’ Protection Unit (SHIPU), delivered a remarkable lecture to over 4,300 students and staff at Kitebi Secondary School in Wankulukuku. Her message was clear, powerful, and deeply impactful, resonating with the youth of Uganda who represent the future of our nation.
The event, hosted by Team Leader and Head Teacher Hajji Muhammad Kamulegeya, was a perfect illustration of the vibrant energy and sense of purpose that the Universal Secondary Education (USE) program continues to cultivate across the country. As the students—the Bazzukulu, Uganda's Gen Z—gathered in unity, Col. Nakalema shared invaluable insights on the unshakable pillars of morality, integrity, values, and honesty. These, she stressed, are not only essential for personal growth, but are also the very blueprint for national transformation.
The key building blocks for a meaningful life that Col. Nakalema shared with the students were:
- Follow the right information and get the right guidance
- Develop the correct values and ideology
- Maintain your integrity and build a legacy to be proud of
In her address, Col. Nakalema, who has dedicated her career to both public service and integrity-driven leadership, underscored the importance of living with purpose and leading with integrity. She urged the students to "Put God first; for the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom." It was a reminder that values and integrity should be the compass guiding both their lives and the future of our nation.
Laced with her personal testimony, the event ended on a high note with a unifying moment of a song, as Col. Nakalema and the students sang “This is the day that the Lord has made”, reinforcing the collective sense of community and mission that is vital for Uganda’s continued growth.
Deeply moved by the enthusiasm and dedication of the students at Kitebi Secondary School. Their commitment to moral leadership and national development is a strong foundation for Uganda’s future. As Col. Edith Nakalema put it, Uganda is rising, and Africa is calling.
A huge thank you to Hajji Muhammad Kamulegeya and the entire Kitebi Secondary School team for their warm hospitality and their steadfast efforts in shaping the next generation of leaders.
